Afternoons - Time for a nice cuppa tea...
While we love our continental coffee mornings, we don’t want to forget what made Britain Great. Tea. Especially afternoon tea. That is, tea which is drunk in the afternoon right? Do you remember? What’s happened to afternoon tea, folks?
We think the loveliest time at our place is the afternoon. So do quite a few others. We have some who like to make it their er… ‘special time’. Away from the nonsense and in the company of TEA! All sorts of flavours of tea, in fact. And occasionally, cucumber sandwiches. Maybe scones. And of course more cake.
Ok, so here’s the deal. Let’s rescue the Great British afternoon tea. From 3pm to 5pm, TEA costs just £1 (or £1.50 with a slice of cake). So does coffee. But frankly tea is IN, especially with cake, and coffee should be out.
If you must drink something else, maybe you should have an aperitif. A glass of decent wine. A cheeky mojito. Or if you can take it, a Long Island Iced…

*Decent reds and cheeky mojitos are not £1. Nor are aperitifs. But Tea is.
That ‘decent’ wine list...
